At Simple Japanese Cuisine, we are committed to providing high-quality products and services to our customers. This Refund Policy outlines our procedures for returns, refunds, and cancellations for purchases made through our website.
Please read this policy carefully before making a purchase. By purchasing products or services from our website, you agree to the terms of this Refund Policy.
1. Digital Products and Online Courses
1.1 E-books and Digital Recipe Collections
Due to the nature of digital products, all sales of e-books and digital recipe collections are final and non-refundable once the download link has been provided or the product has been accessed, unless the product is found to be defective.
If you encounter technical issues with accessing or downloading your purchased digital product, please contact our customer service team at support@simplejapaneserecipes.com within 7 days of purchase. We will work to resolve the issue or provide a replacement.
1.2 Online Cooking Courses
For online cooking courses, we offer a 14-day money-back guarantee from the date of purchase if you are not satisfied with the course content. To qualify for a refund, you must:
- Request a refund within 14 days of purchase
- Have completed no more than 25% of the course content
- Provide specific feedback on why the course did not meet your expectations

2. Physical Products
2.1 Cookbooks and Printed Materials
We accept returns of physical cookbooks and printed materials within 30 days of delivery if the item is in its original condition. To be eligible for a return, your item must be unused and in the same condition that you received it, with all original packaging and tags intact.
To initiate a return, please email returns@simplejapaneserecipes.com with your order number and reason for return. We will provide you with return shipping instructions.
The customer is responsible for return shipping costs unless the item is defective or was shipped in error. Once we receive and inspect the returned item, we will process a refund to your original payment method within 10 business days.
2.2 Cooking Equipment and Utensils
Cooking equipment and utensils can be returned within 30 days of delivery if they are in their original condition, unused, and with all original packaging and tags intact.
If you receive a defective item, please contact us at returns@simplejapaneserecipes.com within 7 days of receipt with photos of the defect. We will either replace the item or issue a full refund, including the original shipping costs.
For non-defective returns, the customer is responsible for return shipping costs. Once we receive and inspect the returned item, we will process a refund to your original payment method within 10 business days.
3. Subscription Services
3.1 Recipe Subscription
For monthly or annual recipe subscriptions, you can cancel your subscription at any time by logging into your account or emailing subscriptions@simplejapaneserecipes.com. No refunds will be provided for partial subscription periods.
If you cancel within the first 7 days of a new subscription, you are eligible for a full refund. After the first 7 days, your subscription will continue until the end of the current billing period, and no refund will be issued for the remainder of that period.
3.2 Ingredient Boxes
For subscription boxes containing physical ingredients:
- You can skip, pause, or cancel your subscription at any time before the order cutoff date (typically 5 days before scheduled delivery)
- Once an ingredient box has been processed and shipped, it cannot be canceled or refunded
- If you receive damaged or spoiled ingredients, please contact us within 24 hours of delivery with photos of the affected items for a partial or full refund

4. Live Workshops and Events
4.1 Online Workshops
For live online cooking workshops:
- Full refunds are available up to 7 days before the scheduled workshop
- 50% refunds are available between 7 days and 48 hours before the scheduled workshop
- No refunds are available within 48 hours of the scheduled workshop
If you are unable to attend, you may transfer your registration to another person by emailing us their information at workshops@simplejapaneserecipes.com at least 24 hours before the workshop.
4.2 In-Person Events
For in-person cooking classes or events:
- Full refunds are available up to 14 days before the scheduled event
- 50% refunds are available between 14 days and 7 days before the scheduled event
- No refunds are available within 7 days of the scheduled event
If you are unable to attend, you may transfer your registration to another person by emailing us their information at events@simplejapaneserecipes.com at least 48 hours before the event.
In the event that we cancel a workshop or event, you will be offered a full refund or the option to transfer your registration to a future date.
5. Gift Cards
Gift cards are non-refundable and cannot be redeemed for cash unless required by law. Gift cards are valid for 3 years from the date of purchase and can be used for any products or services offered on our website.
6. Payment Processing
6.1 Refund Methods
Refunds will be issued to the original payment method used for the purchase. Please allow up to 10 business days for the refund to appear in your account, depending on your payment provider's policies.
6.2 Processing Fees
Please note that payment processing fees (approximately 3-5% of the purchase price) may be deducted from refunds for canceled orders, as these fees are not refundable to us from our payment processors.
7. International Orders
For international orders, the same refund policies apply, but please note:
- Return shipping costs for physical products are the responsibility of the customer
- Import duties, taxes, and customs fees are non-refundable
- International refunds may take longer to process due to shipping times and international banking procedures
8. Exceptions
We reserve the right to make exceptions to this policy at our discretion. In some cases, we may offer store credit instead of a refund.
If you receive an incorrect or defective item, please contact us immediately at support@simplejapaneserecipes.com with photos and a description of the issue. We will work with you to resolve the situation promptly.
